We like to think of Oakengates Theatre as something of a hub for the community in Telford. There is so much to see, do and get involved in at the venue. Over the years we have supported charities and been supported by the locals who care about providing cultural activity to the community. The Box Office counter will be open from one hour before until 15 minutes after the start of a performance.
Online bookings will be available until one hour before the start of a performance.
TICKETS
The Concessionary Ticket (where available) applies to children aged 2-16 (unless otherwise stated), full-time students, people aged 60+ and people registered disabled.
The Family Ticket (where available) applies to a group of 4 with a minimum of 2 children (unless otherwise stated).
Children under 2 may sit on a parent's lap free of charge (unless otherwise stated).
Half-price tickets are available to registered carers of Telford residents. Please see the Me Time For Carers page.
Our Ethos
We believe that culture should be accessible to every person in the community, no matter their age, circumstance or abilities. We have made sure our Theatre is as accessible as possible to individuals of various disabilities, and are continuing to adapt and improve where possible. We offer discounts for families and for school trips to ensure everyone can experience the joy of theatre.
Our Facilities
At Oakengates Theatre we have extensive facilities available both for performers, visitors and the community. We have ample space within each section of our theatre, which are all available for venue hire, a large amount of free parking space and multiple counters at which you can order food, drinks and snacks both during the day and during a show.
If you would like drinks during the interval of a performance, you can order them via the slips provided on arrival.
Oakengates Theatre and the Environment
At Oakengates, we take great responsibility in looking after the environment and hope to encourage other commercial businesses to reduce their carbon emissions.
Since February 2018 we have imposed a ban on single-use plastics on the premises. We still offer drinking straws but only have paper straws available.
You will find recycling bins at every rubbish station and we urge our customers to please read the label on each bin before disposing of your rubbish.
The local Telford Green Peace group hold meetings in Oakengates Theatre once a month and usually put on small performances at least twice a year. Auto Instagram followers have helped the group to increase their following online. These are all free entry and everyone is welcome.
Finally, we have recently installed an air source heat pump which will reduce the amount of carbon emissions we release. As we use a lot of energy due to the number of venues and the lights from the main auditorium, it is important to us that we make the most use of eco-friendly technologies.
